Introducing | Phil Johns, FRSA
A very warm welcome to Phil Johns, FRSA, who will be making his debut with us on Thursday 8th June with a striking collection of abstract works. Phil is an established artist, having exhibited his work for many decades. He studied illustration and graphic design at Southend Art School and completed an MA in Fine Art at Canterbury Christ Church University. Phil was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts in 2002.
In recent years, his study has been influenced by an expansive and varied range of modernist painters, including Matisse, Rothko, Diebenkorn, Heron and Frost, all of which mastered the expressive language of colour.
Phil’s has exhibited extensively in the UK and the USA, his work featuring in numerous public and private collections and has been published by Felix Rosenstiels and Medici. His work has been featured on television and he has contributed to BBC radio programmes.
