Mark Stopforth, “Matins”

We’re very excited to reveal that Stroud painter Mark Stopforth has joined the Paragon stable. A regular exhibitor with the Royal West of England Academy, his work explores the majesty and drama of Britain’s wild spaces, especially its moors, fens, fells and estuaries.

His paintings are the culmination of a lifetime’s fascination with the sublime landscape and the physical properties of paint. Each pencil mark or sweep of oil is keenly felt, a connection between the real world and a “liminal” space.
