We are delighted to welcome beloved watercolour artist, Rod Craig, to the gallery on Saturday 10th February. Rod will be demonstrating his watercolour technique from 11am until 3pm and talking about his inspiration and life as an artist. Pop into the gallery to talk to Rod and view his beautiful watercolour painting. A collection of Rod’s work will be on display in the gallery.
“What interests me most is trying to create a mood of time and place rather than representational studies”, Rod Craig.
Rod grew up in Warwickshire and began his artistic career at the East Warwickshire College. He later attended the West of England College of Art, where he studied graphic design and illustration. Rod then set up his own design company in Oxford at the age of 24.
In 2010 Rod departed the graphics industry to become a full-time painter based at his home and studio in Woodstock, Oxfordshire. Rod currently works in watercolour and ink, painting from memory or from his own photographs.
