“I am interested in the interaction of colour on a canvas. I like to use unconventional techniques and experiment with different mediums to gain unusual effects and interesting textures. The process of the painting and the decisions made during it; the unplanned and accidental is what excites me. I am interested in its composition, balance, perspective and placement of the viewer.
“I draw a lot of my inspiration from images of seascapes. My work is heavily influenced by the North Cornwall coastline where I grew up. The changing and magical light, the exposure to natural and vibrant colours, the shapes of the rugged coast, the movement of water and skies change dramatically throughout the seasons creating a constant source of inspiration.”
