South African Painter
Victoria Stiff was born in Edenvale, South Africa in 1979. Her art comprises predominately still life painting in oils and watercolours on maps, including other variations. She uses found objects to create narrative, and paints with extreme detail and precision.
Having studied under the guidance of Walter Oltman, Clive van den Berg, Karel Nell, Jo Ratcliffe, Gerhard Marx, Stephan Erasmus, and the late Alan Crump at Wits University in 2003 she has since spent many years privately honing her skills.
She has been selected as a finalist at the Thami Mnyele fine art awards in 2013. And has twice been a finalist at Long Street Art Lovers “For The Love of Art,” competition, receiving a merit in 2014.
Victoria has exhibited in over 25 group exhibitions in South Africa, as well as in the UK, including Long Street art lovers, Rotary Art festival at Hyde Park, Carol Lee fine Art and a solo at Long Street art lovers in Pretoria. She has also been involved with the running of the community based, Paint and Palette group for the past 6 years.
In 2016 Victoria immigrated to the UK, and now lives and works in Gloucester.
