Jake is based in Blandford Forum, Dorset where he lives and works as a painter. He studied at Bournemouth College of Art & Design and later, in 1987, graduated in Expressive Arts from Brighton Polytechnic.
After a spell in industry, Jake became a full time artist in 1993. Jake exhibits widely, predominantly in the South of England.
Inspired by light and movement, Jake’s watercolour paintings are reflections of the world around him. He particularly enjoys painting wildlife and equestrian scenes, but also paints land and cityscapes.
As well as exhibitions, he has undertaken many fine art commissions for individuals and notable organisations, including the National Trust.
Jake also writes articles for The Artist magazine and teaches painting workshops.
